Maybe it's time to spice things up a bit...
Let me tell you about our story...
We are Anderson & Deanna.
Growing up in San Francisco is commonly considered being like a different experience than the standard 'American Dream'.
Here culture is very hip and happening, with a large LBGTQ+ community, and people of all different colors and races from around the world.
Anderson is an English teacher currently teaching in a private high school in a rough area of town. I admire his patience and respect for the sometimes naughty students he teaches.
Deanna is me, the main writer for this journal. I have had my way working at a craft store, and enjoy painting and piano in my free time. I come from a family of cannabis activists, my brother is the owner of the popular cannabis company Mold Resistant Strains.
Anywayys..

When we first met❤️️
The time we first met, our eyes locked and Anderson seemed very interested in my. I saw him. He carried himself with a good stature, and seemed to have a sense of well-being about him. Anderson met me in a store I was working in, as he was trying to find some craft supplies for the school he worked at. He's a teacher by the way.
As we walked through the aisles, his humor and reassurance was comforting to say the least. Maybe I had a crush, or it was just a happy conversation. Too early to know. As the conversation went on between me and Anderson, he made a few funny jokes and then eventually asked me out to dinner. I said yes.

The 'rough period'🤔
Flash forward 3 years later and Anderson and I are happily married and are about to have our first child together. We are very happy with our lives, BUT, there was a rough period where things were not well. I would like to share that with you.
You see, Anderson had a way with women. His humor charmed souls wherever he went, much to the displeasement of me. You can imagine the self-worth I feel being a department store employee married to a teacher.
Whenever we went out, Anderson seemed to love to talk to everyone at the party... even though I was by his side, I felt a little out of place sometimes... and it was a feeling that I could never seem to shake.
Coming home after a social event, I felt drained and disappointed, while Anderson always felt invigorated.
This clash of emotions had it's effect.
The dullness grew.
Our distance grew. And so did our unhappiness for our relationship.

All until the 'revelation'
One day I woke up and I knew exactly what had gone wrong.
We had stopped joking with each other, and only stayed serious.
When things got serious, there went the fun factor, along with any good feelings we used to have.
I made a choice...
I knew what I had to do. Pick on him. As silly as this sounds, our relationship was built from potty jokes and playful bullying. As things progressed, we got more serious, and the fun loving faded away.
I called him funny names again.
I pulled a few pranks on him.
I pulled more pranks on him.
He pulled pranks on me.
And we laughed together, and it felt good. Just lovely. ❤️️
